Of course washing and conditioning your hair is vital to maintaining healthy hair. Your shampoo can strip your hair of it’s natural oils and the conditioners job is to bring it back. Most may not know but deep conditioning is a separate treatment that is different than your regular routine.
A regular conditioning treatment stays on the hair for a short period of time about 1-5 minutes. Rinse out conditioners can only moderately adsorb ingredients on the surface of your hair. They’re safe for a regular wash routine and to get rid of buildup.
A Deep Conditioning treatment is a lot thicker in consistency and requires you to leave it on for a longer period of time, usually 10-30 minutes. Best results are given when it’s applied then you sit under the dryer. The best deep conditioners consist of ingredients that can penetrate the shaft of the hair and nourish your cuticle on a deeper level.
As you can see both are different in the ways they treat the hair and the consistency in the different products. However both treatments are important to your healthy hair journey. Remember to research the ingredients in any products you use in your hair, to assure you’re getting the right treatment for your hair.
