Thin Is Not In: Tips On How to Keep Your Hair from Thinning

There are many reasons you hair can start to thin or fall out. It can be what you consume (or not consume), your physical health or even your mental health. Keep it Conditioned.


Having your hair moisturized as much as possible is what conditioning will do for you. Thinning hair can also mean that your scalp maybe dry. Try to condition your hair at least once a week with a product that enforces strong hair repair. Drinking enough water will also help.

Loosen That Ponytail!


Have you noticed that your edges are thinning out before the rest of your hair? It maybe that your buns and pony tails are too tight. Even tight braids from sew ins can cause your edges to thin. Try wearing your hair down, using a cute headband for loose pony tails and insist that your stylist leaves out your edges in your next sew in.


Consume Protein and Vitamins!


Whether it’s grapefruit, greek yogurt or chicken you need to have some type of protein in your diet. You can also incorporate vitamin D and vitamin B12 as well! Don’t expect results overnight though. Over a few weeks to a couple of months you will start to see your hair become stronger. Make sure you check with your doctor before you start taking any new vitamins or change your diet!


Find a Physical Outlet.


Stress and anxiety can cause your hair to thin or fall out. Many people have anxiety and do not even know it. Their mini attacks may be brushed off as being over excited or not having the proper amount of sleep. Try listening to calming music or meditate in the morning. You can even start a journal to write your feelings down and get them out of your head.


Take care of your scalp.

Your hair comes from your scalp, so it is a must that you take care of it. Rubbing oils like castor oil, peppermint oil and coconut oil on your scalp weekly will stimulate your scalp and encourage hair growth. Don’t forget to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.
